Grading Management System

Grading is a complex topic that involves philosophical, pedagogical, and pragmatic issues for all students, and for those with disabilities. We all have our own ideas of how grades should be assigned, and what they should tell us about the student's performance. Our perceptions of grading practices are influenced largely by our own experiences with grades, and as might be expected our general level of satisfaction with the grading system in our local school is higher if our own children have received high grades and is likely to be lower if our child has received lower grades. (Bursuck, Munk, & Olson, 1999).
Grading is the most important activities the faculty member does. Many problems in teaching arise because of grading issues. Grading involves on how you score exams, what kind of exam you give, and how you assign course grades at the end of semester.
The way to assess the students must be an accurate reflection of skills and information taught in the class. But regardless of our own potential satisfaction with grading systems, research on grades for students  provides compelling evidence that intervention is needed in that included students are at increased risk for low or failing grades; teachers report feeling pressured or obligated to give students a higher grade than they had earned to allow the student to pass or because it seems fair; and teachers may respond to the needs of individual students by making informal grading adaptations that are not implemented systematically.
The purpose for grades may also be thought of as what the grading system is designed to measure and report, or what the grade "means" to a student, parent, teacher, counselor, or employer. Establishing what purpose(s) a grade will serve and implementing a grading system that is perceived to meet that purpose can lead to increased student, parent and teacher satisfaction. (Munk & Bursuck, 2004)
Grading systems may be designed to measure and/or communicate for the teachers to know how much the progress has been made on the general curriculum or the improvement was made since the last marking period, and to compare to that other student’s performance. By surveying perceived purposes is helpful for teachers considering what to include in their grading systems, and is important when problem-solving for students receiving a low or failing grade.
Grading system reflects the philosophy about the student, about competition, and about the acquisition of knowledge itself or measures the learning progress of a student. Students should know of what grading system being used by the teacher at the beginning of the semester, and it is important for the student to answer their questions about the grading system being used, because they will measure their worth or allocate their efforts in class based on the grading system. The unreliable grading is caused by poor communication to the students, lack of consistent criteria, lack of variety of assignments, and lack of enough assignments. This means that a student’s grades should not be based completely on one or two measurements (assignments or exams) or on the mood of the grader.

Students Information Management System

As the college evolves, more tasks are to be done. Information was taken from collated piles of paper that hinders the efficiency and facilitation of the services. Sometimes easy problems get difficult that adds burden to the registrar who shouldered most of the transactions workflows of the students.
In an effort to achieve high standards of quality education, Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Inc. would like to start the change in their office wherein the traditional operation will be replaced by an automated office transaction. Office automation refers to the varied computer machinery and software used to digitally create, collect, store, manipulate, and relay office information needed for accomplishing basic tasks and goals. It pertains to all tools and methods that are applied to office activities which make it possible to process written, visual, and sound data in a computer-aided manner.
It is also intended to provide elements which make it possible to simplify, improve, and automate the organization of the activities of a company or a group of people (management of administrative data, synchronization of meetings, etc.). In particular, it also includes the following activities:
  • exchange of information
  • management of administrative documents
  • handling of numerical data
  • meeting planning and management of work schedules
With these findings, the administration put an effort to help the registrar’s department provide a quality service to the students. They have conceptualized to apply the Students Information Management System, a software application for education establishments to manage student data. Student information systems provide capabilities for entering student test and other assessment scores through an electronic grade book, building student schedules, tracking student attendance, and managing many other student-related data needs in a school, college or university.
As a result, Southern Luzon Technological College Foundation Inc., attempts to eliminate paper and aims to gain greater control of documents by applying the system on the registrar’s office so that they can render faster with quality service to their clients.

Information System Management

Despite state-of-the-art IT systems and sophisticated business processes, the volume of paper that assaults the typical enterprise is overwhelming. And nowhere is the problem worse than for college institutions. Requirements of the students and other documents become stack up to an avalanche of documents and files. In today’s competitive business environment, companies are intensely concerned with the quality of their products and services. A successful organization must improve quality in every area including its information system.
Information is the collection of processed raw data. It is one of the main resources for knowing a specific matter and a major product accessible for the next generation to further developed the current situation. Over the centuries, information have played important role in an individual’s progress and as well as for the country’s development. As an individual he must have a strong information infrastructure as his weapon to be able to compete in this challenging world. Likewise, for an organization, information is their tool to further improve the current system.
As one step into the portal of another age a new demand of new level of information arises. In modern society, the task and retrieval of information has been taken over almost entirely by computer system. Planners and policy makers in the government and private sector including the academe and research institutions rely heavily on the information available.
Today, as organizations have evolved, the need for both access to quality intelligence and autonomy at the local level have made it imperative and challenging to manage information assets more effectively, efficiency and wisely. It all pertains to the issue of quality assurance which has become generally important throughout the industrialized world. It has become particularly important for software because of the increasing reliance of business on software and because of the notorious reputation that software enjoys.

Management Learning Hones Ability and Skills

Skills, knowledge, experience and talent have likely played a large part in helping us carve out your path up the promotion ladder, and you may well have your eyes on the higher rungs too. A skill refers to learned capacity to carry out explicit results often with the least expenditure of either time, energy or both. It is usually categorized as domain-general and domain-specific skills.

In the scope of work, general skills like time management, teamwork and leadership are needed while domain-specific skills would be the requirements for specific job. The level of skill is assessed by the use of parameters such as environmental stimuli and situations and the ability to still carry out activities. Skills and training are needed in order to enhance people's learning capacity and job performance.

Everybody can be a manager but not everybody can complete a certificate for quality management learning program which only confirms that you prove several things to gain the credibility and worthiness. One can attain the certificate for quality Management Learning program if he attains the following:

  • enhanced your risk management
  • improved written and verbal communication skills
  • the skill to effectively manage project timeline within cost
  • improved procurement skills
  • improved monitoring and documentation skills
  • learned the legal aspects affecting project implementation

Being a manager is also being a leader and as a leader, you serve to become example to everyone. We make sure that our staff catches the right thing we do in very situation. So to become a good example to them, we do some things that could improve our management towards the business and to our people. And if we work towards what we had in the management trainings we undergo, we can expect better pay in the future.
